The last few months have seen me wearing more lipsticks and lip products than I have ever worn in my life. I believe lipstick is a great way to change up your daily look when you don’t have much time.
Recently I completed an internship in London, which involved commuting in everyday, so I didn’t really have much time to concentrate on my make-up. Therefore, to make my daily look a bit more interesting, I would change my lip products regularly. Ever since I started wearing make- up, I have always struggled finding lip colours that suited me, often leaving me wearing none at all. But I decided to dedicate more time to finding some shades that I loved and below are the results.
This is one that I was eyeing up for a while, but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for a lipstick (£24). Luckily my sister bought it for me for my birthday in December, and you can probably tell from the picture, I have used it quite a lot. The colour is a bit more red/pink than it looks, but I think it still suits my quite pale skin, and the formula of the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks is very soft and moisturising. I normally only go for matte lip products, but the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks give more of a sheen finish, which at first I thought I wouldn’t like, but actually looks lovely on, and is perfect for Spring and Summer.
This lipstick is the most brown lipstick in this post, but because it’s still quite nude and pale, it is still good for day time. I love pairing it with a nude matte lip liner like the ones I show below, which automatically makes the lipstick matte. Another thing I love about these Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks is that they’re so pretty. I’m a complete sucker for rose gold, and the packaging is probably my favourite lipstick packaging I’ve ever seen and it looks lovely in my make-up collection.
This lipstick was 100% inspired by vlogger and blogger Lydia Millen. She wore it in a couple of videos and it looked amazing, so I had to get my hands on it. A few people were saying that it was sold out everywhere, but I lucked out and found it in the first Superdrug I went in to. This is the perfect girly pink shade, and it pretty much goes with any make-up look. The only thing is that I wouldn’t wear it without a lip liner.
Again this is one that I’ve wanted for a long time. I’m pretty sure nearly everybody has this, or has at least heard of it. It’s a must have for any beauty fanatic, and is a great shade for most skins colours. I love MAC lipsticks and I am so happy this is finally part of my collection.
When I started experimenting with lipsticks recently, I also started using lip liners a lot more. I have come to realise that I much prefer wearing lipsticks with liner than without, it makes the lipstick last longer and also gives my lips a fuller look. The two I’ve been loving are MAC’s Lip Pencil in ‘Spice’, and Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in ‘Pillow Talk’. They both go perfectly with all the lipsticks above, both are quite similar in colour, Spice is a bit more orange toned, whereas Pillow Talk is more pink. I especially love how soft and easy to use the Charlotte Tilbury lip liner is, I will definitely be purchasing more in the future.
